New Year Resolutions

Alright 2010! Here I come!

1. Start exercising regularly - Modern dance class isn't cutting it. Me and my friend are supposed to run everyday before school :) Maybe even bike to school?

2. Write in my journal more and write down all my ideas - I thought I was just going to stop at one point... but when I went back and read some of it, I decided I need to keep it going because it is just too much fun to look back on.

3. Stop procrastinating!!! - This seems to be on my resolutions list... every year... Any ideas to make this happen?

4. Put more into bonding with my father - My parents are divorced and I always lived with my mom, so my father and I never really saw eye to eye. I think that needs to change. :)

5. Be more excited about classes and education - I love to learn... but when it comes to classes, i do the bare minimum... it should be easier this semester since i will have classes with friends!

6. Accomplish something every day that works towards my dream - i tried this earlier in the year... and it died down quickly. Time to pick it back up and stick with it.

7. Make new friends - I love making new friends! I don't do it as much as I would like to.

8. Save money! - this is a biggy! coupons anyone?? :P

9. Read many plays - I was told that if I want to take my dream seriously, I need to read atleast about 300 plays by the time i graduate!! Wish me luck!!

10. Have fun and live life - Life is too short for worries! Can't wait for that trip to New York :)

I saw The Fourth Kind tonight.

I don't even know what to think.
Especially since this movie is based on a true story...

I didn't watch the trailer
and I was told it was not scary in the least.
I wasn't at all prepared. Haha.

Here is the trailer:

Although it was really intense at times,
I walked out thinking that I really liked it.
Not enjoyed... because that seems like a weird word to put to this movie...
but it made me think...
and that's one of the main reason I liked it.
I can't wait 'til my dad sees it.
I'm sure he will come up with some crazy theory of his own.

After the movie, the group i was with talked for a while.
We came up with some crazy theories too haha.

My friend, Ryan, is a thinker.
That's like... all he does. haha
He came up with something like this:

So, the aliens have been around for thousands and thousands of years...
maybe humans weren't supposed to become humans.
We could just be lab rats to the aliens who evolved us in the first place
just so they could test on us.
That would technically make them "god" as they stated in the movie...
"i.... am..... god......"

In the movie,
the aliens have drilled into the back of her shoulder
and into other human's bodies as well.
It leaves a mark, but they feel no pain
nor do they remember the incident at all unless they pry.
Maybe the aliens aren't exactly as vicious as they seem...
just need us for examination and put us back to normal life.
It's when they start to question the higher being
that real trouble arises.

Maybe the owls aren't really owls.
(Well duh, that's what they kept saying.)
But why would they think it was an owl in the first place?
I could see it...
The area around the eyes and the eyes themselves have a weird shape to them.
Even in ancient artifacts where they had drawn out alien or carved them out,
they had that eye shape.
That of an owl.

Just some thoughts... :P

I encourage anyone who has seen this movie to comment below and tell me your own theory.

I went to Barnes & Noble today on a search.

I needed a new journal.

Not that I finished my old one...

I still have that.

But I needed a journal that has a purpose.

Not something to put anything and everything in.

So listen...

I'm going to be famous someday.

It's gonna happen.

It will hold...

Our first performance of The Wedding Song was last night.

It was SO much fun!

For those of you who have never been involved in a dinner theatre,

you wouldn't believe how different of an experience it is!

There is no stage.

The actions take place in between the tables where people eat.

And sometimes even on people!

There was a few times where my character had to sit on laps

and a few of the other actors had to pick someone to get up and dance with.

How to get mold out of your carpet!

Question:

How do I get mold out of a carpet?

I just had this problem and had to look it up online.

Found a good answer on yahoo answers.

I am currently trying this method.

I have done the first step: the vinegar.

The stain and smell is gone so far.

I have to wait a while before I continue.

Answer:

You can try applying some undiluted White Vinegar on the mold, this will kill the mold and remove the stain and make it smell clean and fresh again, then just leave it for about an hour after that just rinse with warm water but do not soak the carpet, after you have rinsed you just blot up with a clean white towel or any towel that does not bleed color, then rinse once more and blot again, then place a clean white towel over the area you have just washed and weight it down with a heavy object preferably something that does not rust, leave that over night, then remove the next day, and then sprinkle baking soda over the area and leave on for a few days then just vacuum up, your carpet will be as good as new again. Good Luck !

My friend Jenna introduced me to a musical that is now my latest obsession.

It's a rock musical.

Kinda like Rent, and Spring Awakening.

It's wonderful!

I haven't seen it, so I don't know the whole story.

What i get from it:

A family of "four".

A mother, father, daughter, and son.

Trying to be a normal family

But they are anything but that.

Especially because the son who is now 16

(mother's perfect child)

was really killed at 18 months.

Don't get it?

The mother is the only one who sees him.

Watched him grow up.

So, she's on meds of course...

a lot of them.

And that is just the beginning.

My Marvelous Cabaret Journal!!

I tried my luck at alchemy about a week or so ago.

Asking for a custom journal in the style of Cabaret.

We are doing the play this year at IRSC

and I wanted a journal where i could write

all my ideas, set designs, costume designs, etc.

Got about 7 bids that were all wonderful!

I began speaking to ragtags, one of the bidders.
She contacted me with so much excitement over the project.
Saying that it was a marvelous project that would be a lot of fun

Her work that she provided me was just the style i was looking for.

So I decided to go with her :]

Not only is she a wonderful artist, but one of the friendliest people that i have met on etsy.

All while working on my journal, she sent me links to costume patterns

and different things that she had found while researching for the journals theme.

I just received the journal today!!

And I could not be happier!

She had sent me a few pictures before-hand

but it is SO gorgeous and perfect in person!

It is exactly what I was hoping for and more!
I can tell that she put all of her excitement
plus her hear and soul into making this journal!

The best $55 i've ever spent!

The cover is absolutely gorgeous! Love the water color background and the little stones that were added to the corset. That must have taken a long time O:

This has a pocket that says The Money Song and holds 2 issued to: papers (you know, like the ones they put in the books at the library :] Not sure how i'm going to use them yet, i will have to ask her :D She has some better ideas than i do xD The page to the right says The Telephone Song and holds a pack of sticky picture edges so I can put pictures anywhere in my journal! Not my idea... like i said. she's amazing :D

This is the backside of The Telephone Song page. It has one of the Cabaret logos and What would you do on the pocket :]

This is the next divider for Costumes! And how perfect! Love the costume the girl is wearing :] Says Perfectly Marvelous!

This is the other side that says Married and Meeskite on it! This is one of my favorite pages! So many jewels and flowers and stuff! i LOVE mixed media!!

Everytime someone receives their stamps in the mail,

i always get a thank you message

or a really nice feedback note.

But every once in a while I get a message that really stands out

and really makes me happy.

Notes like these let me know that you are truly happy with what you got!!

Hey Felicia! I got my stamps yesterday. I love them. You did such a great job. I am using them on bias tape to make tags for bags I make and I could not wait to try it out. Well, after playing around with the stamps for a little while, I discovered a new way of stamping the image rather than what I was originally wanting. So I guess it was a good thing that we decided to do three separate stamps instead of one long one! Yay! I have attached a pic so you can admire your own handywork. The bag in the pic is a car litter bag I was asked to make for a friend that is crazy about the New Orleans Saints. Blech. But anyway. If you cant tell, I am super stoked about my stamps! And I am seriously eyeing one of those address stamps you have on your store. I'll have to wait on that one, though. Thanks again, Felicia....you were so great to work with and your craftsmanship is really top notch.

Really tired, not wanting to do anything.

so i looked it up, and found a few different stories.

Apparently these "mood swings" are in our primal nature.

And of course, everyone is affected by the event differently.

But i just found it too perfect!

Everytime i go there, i try to put some hours into working.

That's $10 an hour!!

And now that i'm 18, i get a raise!

oh, happy days.

So now i need a super cool wallet to hold me new money ;D

There is pretty much NOTHING to do in the keys

unless you like swimming, boating, fishing, etc.

which i don't.

This brings me to the next advantage.

i get to relax!

just take time to chill out on the computer,

just slow down!!

One of the advantages to my dad being a C.E.O. of D'Asign Source

is that every child of the C.E.O.'s get $2000 towards a computer once they graduate!

I got this 15 inch bad boy!

And i am in LOVE with it!

You have no idea... i would marry it if i could :P

So i have been looking on etsy for sleeves, cases, etc.

and i stumbled upon this beauty made by janinekingdesigns

i want it so bad!!

The design and colors are gorgeous!

Fits my personality completely ;D

Vinyl decals for laptops look really nice.

I really like the design and how the black will match my keys :]

So i did.

As i watched,

I was thinking...

Did i just see a bit of willy wonka?

When I saw the cheshire cat, i knew.

So I had the lovely experience to be going to a certain doctor yesterday...

Then an Ultrasound appointment today...

And next week i get my throat checked out...

I'm getting my tonsils removed as well.

You don't understand.

I am ALWAYS sick.

So I am sitting here...

eating a bowl of apple sauce

that has 2 tablespoons of mineral oil hidden in it.

You almost can't even tell.

Next is the fiber powder that i need to put in water

and drink...

now THAT will be nasty.

Not looking forward to that.

And then some pills

and some gel.

You don't even want to know.

NOTES:

(just incase its hard to read in the picture)

Really hard to add a tie to PB because of where the face is placed. Tried to put the face higher but i liked it better low.
So i added a top hat instead :P
I might take the feet off. They just don't seem to fit right and might be hard to add on when I shrink it down to 1" tall.
PB smile looked weird. Kinda like it with just the stach :P
Are the hands ok just being circles?
I'm gonna change the shape of the jelly at the bottom because it gave her a chin that made her look chubby. lol i didn't like it :P

Custom Stamp for leatherprince

NOTES:

(just incase its hard to read in the picture)

I kinda like the bottom 4 better cause they are more symmetrical which looks better on stamps. But it is your choice ofcourse.
Do you want me to add or take off the keyrings? I can do it either way.
These will look better in stamp form, i promise tehe.
The writing will be centered ofcourse.
if you choose the dog... is the head too big?
for the dog there are 3 choices for writing placement (1) On the body (2) underneath the body (3) over the body <--- i don't really like that one.
excuse the fingers to the right :P

So, you said you wanted the "leatherprince" a different stamp than the keychain. So i came up with two different designs for the leatherprince. At the top of the page - Either regular (on the left) or blacked (on the right). Or you can get both! :]
Giraffee - there is a line above the horns. ignore that lol.
Ninja - i wasn't really sure how to draw the top right side of the head. is that right? Also, I wasn't sure about the design on the stomach. It kinda looks like a Y but i'm not sure what it is supposed to be. Maybe if i knew, i could draw it better? lol or did i draw it right? i don't even know haha
Dog - I forgot that i was going to make the area around the eyes black (i grayed it in) and the eyes white. So just keep that in mind :P
Dog - i put a little drool drop. ignore that haha i was just being stupid lol.

Seussical the Musical

My most recent dive into theatre is actually children's theatre! Where all your dreams come true...

Seussical the Musical is my favorite play ever!

Tried to convince my drama teacher to do it as our musical this year.

She wouldn't.

But Saint Genesius must have been looking down.

Because i found out a few weeks later that C.B.P.H. Productions was starting up a camp to produce the show Seussical the Musical Junior!

How exciting!

So, I became a counselor! And i also got the opportunity to play a role as well.

I auditioned and got the part of Gertrude Mcfuzz!

That was way back in September '08

Here we are in June '09

and finally we are in the week of the show!

Rehearsals are intense! 9am to 4 30pm everyday.

We've been working all year and someone quit the week of the show. upsetting D:

Friday is opening night at the Lyric Theatre! Grab your tix!!!

The shows are double casted so i only perform as Gertrude Fri. night and Sat. day :]

I am a bird girl for the others.

Wish me broken legs!!

My birthday was on May 11.

I think anyone can understand when i say that our family was suffering from low budget.

So I didn't get gifts as i usually do.

Small things is all.

Which is fine. Things happen. We are strong.

We are doing better and my mom sent me off to get the iPod Classic i've been wanting.

I graduated from high school.

Walking across the stage and of course i could hear joey and mitchell in the front row of my class "FELICIA!"

Haha. Those goofballs.

I think it is silly how they don't actually give you your diploma once you walk across the stage. It's kinda like "nope, your not done yet. We only tricked you. Mwahaha!"

My parent's from the keys came down to see me as well. Dinner at Flanigans afterwards was nice. They have the best garlic rolls ever!

Project Graduation wasn't what I expected. Seemed like there wasn't enough to do. I did enjoy the rock climbing wall and winning a Rock Band 2 for Wii. I think it might make a good addition to the hang out room in the new house once we move. But I'll be in a dorm anyways. The highlight of project grad... the Hypnotist! That was so crazy. People were saying how fake it was. Definatly not fake. No football player would willingly put lipstick on and a wig and slow dance with another guy. I just don't see that happening naturally.

I was driving home at 5am. The longest I have been out in a long time. Woulda left earlier if you didn't have to stay to claim your prize.

People keep telling me i am gonna miss it. And I am sure when the 10 year reunion rolls around I am gonna be excited to meet up with people and such. But honestly, I am so happy to be out of there. Nothing would ever make me want to go back.

So, I wanted to give it a whirl.

I picked a stick out of the yard...

had my dad help me cut it up

(apparently arms get chopped up in the process sometimes D:)

and came up with a little wooden handle.

How to Save on AA Batteries.

My dad sent me an email with a link to a video that shows you how to save money on AA Batteries.

I use batteries a lot so hopefully this turns out to be true :]

I was also looking around YouTube and found that a lot of videos showed this not to be true but each brand seemed to hold something different. So maybe this brand in this video is true.

An etsy forum got me thinking today...

I really want to get a belly button ring.

So after picking up my stolen wallet that someone had found

(all gift cards, etc. counted for... except my money. still... yay!)

Nick drove me to Chicago Inksters

$40 later... I have a pierced navel!

Did it hurt?

I totally siked myself out but it barley hurt at all.

Now all i have to worry about is it getting infected.

And the choice of all the wonderful bellybutton rings on etsy...

when 6 weeks rolls around. :]

What a good night it was too!

I was so happy...

Until we went back to the car and found my purse gone.

So that's my wallet with a bunch of gift cards, credit cards and SS card...

My ipod...

And most important to me: My digital camera...

Lucky for Nick... his laptop in the backseat was untouched. ???

So, if you are thinking... "that won't happen to me"

Think again.

Some things to keep in mind to stop this from happening:
or some things to do if it does happen:

Keep all serial numbers of anything that comes with them (camera, ipod, laptop, etc.) in a journal or some kind of book. Don't write them in your laptop just incase it is stolen as well. Police can sometimes use the serial numbers to find your items in pawn shops.
obviously, just don't leave valubles in the car... and if you NEED to, the safest place to put it is your trunk.
MAKE SURE you lock the car. A lot of thefts happen when the theif just goes up to a line a cars and tries to open each one without "breaking in"
as soon as you know your wallet is stolen... call the bank and make sure they block the card so no money can be taken out.
call the police. although you might think that it was just your purse and wallet and such and such and the cops won't want to deal with it... it is important to get it filed so that you can have evidence later on. just incase something is used (credit card, social security card, etc.) and you can prove it wasn't you.
make copies of all of your atm, credit, debit cards and keep them in a safe place at home. - for some people, it is hard to remember which specific cards and accounts were stolen because they have a few. This also makes reporting lost/stolen cards easier.
NEVER store your original Social Security card in your wallet/purse/etc. like i did! This is VERY important!
